Suttles, Denise
Pastor Denise Suttles currently pastors the First Baptist Church of Woodland Park, in Woodland Park, Michigan where she was elected pastor in September 2002. Prior to this election, Pastor Suttles served as Pastor at Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Detroit, MI from 1997 to 1999, where she initiated various community outreach efforts. She also served as an Associate Minister at the Bethel Pentecostal Church Abundant Life Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan, which included leading youth ministry, evangelism, teaching Basic Bible Study and assisting with the ministry of visitation. Additionally, she served as an Evangelist-Missionary at the Prince of Peace Church of God In Christ in Denver, Colorado.
Pastor Suttles currently co-chairs the Lake/Newaygo County Martin Luther King Commemorative Committee and serves as Executive Director for the Action Resource Center of Woodland Park. She also holds the office of secretary of the United Christian Ministers Fellowship.
Pastor Suttles was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. She studied at Grand Rapids Bible and Music College and Calvin College. She majored in Biblical Studies and Managerial Leadership. Married to Marshall Suttles, they have five children and ten grandchildren. The Suttles reside in peaceful and beautiful Woodland Park, Michigan.
